So this issue I'm currently experiencing with WatchOS 10 is something that I have experienced with other versions of WatchOS before. I'm wondering if anyone has encountered it and what your quick workaround is.

Summary: Basically, my AirPods Pro disconnect from my Watch and my Watch's Podcast app stops playing when I move far away enough causing my iPhone to disconnect from my Watch. My iPhone disconnects from my Watch when I go out running with just my Watch alone, and of course, this is normal behavior.

More detailed setup: I have home wifi and of course the iPhone is connected to the Wifi and also has cell service when I'm at home. My Watch (an Ultra, has both Wifi and cellular capabilities). Right before I run, I activate the Podcast app on my Watch and start playing it to my AirPods Pro. I make sure that the podcast episode I'm listening to is one that is downloaded to my Watch. I start my Watch workout then off I go. About less than a block away from my home when the iPhone is not long able to connect with the Watch, but I can still see I may have some Wifi signal, the AirPods Pro disconnects from the Watch and the Podcast app, as one would expect, stops playing.

I stop running and then I check the connections. It seems that the AirPods Pro has reconnected to the Watch (or maybe it hasn't; status isn't very clear). The Podcast app though won't play even if I try to have it play through to AirPods. The only way I have been able to play the podcast is force quit the Podcast from the dock, then start all over again selecting the episode I had been playing from. AirPods play fine and then I go back to running.

There's definitely some glitch some where.

What's an easy workaround until Apple fixes this?
