Are these really the same product and it's just a new software update? Seems like there's conflicting info floating around on if they are really the same and Apple just changed the name (slightly) and released a software update, or if they are actually different. I did ask Apple Support and they said there were hardware differences but they could not actually detail any of them. It seems like even stores are using the same model/UPC #'s for them.

I wonder if they changed the name when they changed the pro 2 case from lightning to usb c, kind of like the new AirPod Max.

My guess anyways.
