iPhone XS Max Airpods Signal chopping with iWatch 4 on the arm that holds the phone?

Hi,

Are you guys experiencing AirPods sound choppiness (like stuttering) when you hold your phone on the same arm as your watch iWatch is worn on?

I wear it on my left and whenever I put the phone in my left hand and put the phone lower than my waist the signal goes chopping and sometimes fully disconnected. But when I put the phone in my right hand, the signal is fine. Is that a bug or just bluetooth signal being disrupted? I am assuming it is the latter but wanted to see if anybody is experiencing this issue?

a watch that i was gonna return but can't live without because i have the damn XS max lol
