Does anyone have experience using both versions of the Airpods (not the Pros) with their Apple Watch. I've been using v1 Airpods with my watch since they came out and they've worked fine (Series 2, 3 and now 5). The battery life is still fine and I've never had any issues with them, but recently I've started to see an issue where if I leave wifi and go onto cellular, the audio will cut out (sometimes). I'll be listening to a podcast at my house, and get in the car, drive down the block and when I get out of range of my wifi, no audio. It's still playing, but I can't hear anything. If I switch to music, then it starts playing again, and sometimes I can go back to the podcast after that, but other times not.

It seems like a weird issue, so I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm wondering if upgrading to the Series 2 AirPods would help the issue since they have the better bluetooth (v5 vs 4.2)

do you have any other bluetooth speakers or headphones to test with?

I'd be willing to bet it's an app issue, not your headphones.

Thanks, that's a good idea. Not sure why I didn't think of it, but yah, I have some beatsx. I'll try to replicate it with those.
