Disappointed I couldn't voice my input to todays Skype meeting whilst hoping to use AirPods.
1. Do airpods actually work with Windows 10
2. Does it make any difference that I use Wireless Charging Case.
3. The reset button back of Wireless Case doesn't change to White LED when held for a few Secs.
Finally should I maybe re try once I find original Non Wireless Charging Case.
I only seen a few Non Airpods devices found via Win10 so Laptop Bluetooth is working for other devices such as Sony 4K t.v.

Thanks in Advance

After finding a decent Bluetooth USB dongle for my Windows 10 desktop, the Airpods have worked very well. I didn’t have much hope left after the initial dongle I purchased was so flaky, I stopped using it.

This is the one I purchased which I’m happy with...

I also have a Windows 10 laptop for work which has an inbuilt Bluetooth transmitter & it works great - almost as if it were an IOS device.

Thanks since resolved as I don't have any Bluetooth dongle.
Hold wireless charging case button 15secs until white led turn to amber.
Setup for tomorrows meeting, noticed Airpods have to be re paired per devices i.e. iphone/laptop.

yes you can't have the AirPods paired to more than one Bluetooth device at a time. The exception for this is with Apple devices. The AirPods can be shared among all devices you are signed into with the same Apple ID. But you definitely cannot do that and have it paired simultaneously to a Windows laptop or something like an Android device. It does not support Multipoint Bluetooth.

Part success and major panic today.
Early a.m. Skype meeting could be heard and once after airpods re paired to laptop I could get a late verbal word in
Panic time afternoon Skype meeting -Airpods re paired to laptop -No Audio heard at all.
Maybe I should try non Apple headphones/mic.
Possibly due to me rapidly swapping Airpods from iphone to re pair to laptop, it's those kind of times if I don;t get the required Audio -I panic slightly.

Yeah having to re-pair between devices is definitely going to get annoying fast. Best to have a second headset for your laptop at this point.

Think I'll purchase this tomorrow, is there any issue when I i'll want to use usb dongle rather than laptop internal Bluetooth.
I hven't managed to establish if the audio and speech not working was due to laptop Bluetooth or Skype not recognising Airpods audio+speech.
Though found your kinds mentioned adaptor in local retailer, worth a try 10 Uk pounds.
Earliest use is scheduled Wed's, though have option of testing from tomorrow.
Hopefully as you mention it's plug+play as I don't have admin rights.

You should be able to disable the internal Bluetooth, maybe in the BIOS?

Good luck with the adapter. Report back with how it goes.

I've not managed to get my airpods pro to stay connected to my Surface 6. They connect, then disconnect a few seconds later.

Thak you as your advice saves me a lot of time from Weds'
I'll continue with chat+email though I'll possibly try listen in without expecting speech even if I connect standard earphones.
I have a day tomorrow to check sound is working via earphones+laptop.
slightly annoyed that I failed to bring home Bluetooth headset+mic -though I don;t have software installed to use via laptop and no admin to install.

but this thread has inspired me to try and get them working!

I have today to Try, though Skype business is by accepting invite-next one tomorrow.
Think I'll at very least try laptop internal mic- not as simple considering I cannot install 3rd party apps or software.

I spent days trying to get this working. If you look on the Microsoft/Skype forums it appears that the issues are a known problem. No timetable for a fix though.

Best I ever got was could hear sound in the AirPods but had to use the Mic on the windows laptop

Exactly I had audio last Thurs/Fri though no speech from Airpods.
I've given up trying, shall attempt and request Bluetooth earphones/mic software to be installed whenever someone is available.

Thanks

I'm sure I had the Powerbeats Pros working, then I returned them for Airpods Pro which I can't get working!

AirPods works fine on Windows 10 for me if and only if you don't use its microphone. If you use it with microphone the audio quality is worse then $1 headphones.

I can connect my AirPods to my Dell laptop but when I want to use both audio and microphone, the Windows forces to define AirPods as communication device instead of Stereo and the audio quality becomes very bad.

If your microphone on your computer is solid one, you can disable microphone of the AirPods and use them as only headphones. That way the audio quality gets better but it doesn't work well for me since my computer's microphone is bad.
