Airpods with some sort of BT dongle for TV. Yay or nay?

Or is the lag between video and audio still not good enough for watching TV these days?

Have an RF unit, but it's bulky and not really getting used much. Would prefer just to be able to use the AirPods as I've always got them on my person and can switch from TV to phone etc.

I'm sure the sound quality difference would be big, but convenience seems more important to me.

I used them with a bluetooth receiver and my Samsung TV for the last couple of days and they were fine.
