I need to connect an airport to a cox cable modem. I have connected the airport to modem configured the airport with password etc...I can see the airport on my mac. It says my apple wirelss device does not have a valid IP address. Any help will be great. Thanks

Is the cox modem also a wifi router? If so you need to be sure that it is set to be a DHCP server as well. That should be a setting you can enable or disable from within the modem settings.

If you can not tell if it's a wifi device I'm guessing it's probably not.

Cox seems to have its own issues.

I think you might need to have them resync the modem with their servers.

just give them a call and they should be send the signal form their end to yours and put it back online properly.
