Airport Base station graphite not responding

hey all,
i recently purchased an airport base station on ebay, the older rounded apple graphite one. i am trying to configure it with my mac, but it will not show up in airport utility. however it will show up in my airport when i scan for wireless networks and it is named "ibook training cart" even after plugging it into my computer via ethernet, nothing shows up in airport utility. even after resetting the router several times, nothing in airport utility. and whats strange is that the name ibook training cart stays the same even after i reset it. do i have a busted router? any advice would be greatly appreciated
