Hi all,

I want to replace my linksys wifi router, it's been more flakey than usual recent, and I'm sick of restarting it all the time, I've updated the firmware, and it's still poor.

I've decided to go with an Apple wifi router, but I want to know the differences between the Extreme Base Station and the Express router, I can see one allows 50 users, and the other 10, 10 is plenty for me, so not bothered about that. What else is there?

I also like the small size of the express, less trailing wires etc...

I'm not too bothered about Wifi speed, but reliability is paramount, if I need to spend the extra for the Base station then that's fine, I just want to know it wouldn't be a waste of cash, in the UK, it's almost double the price.

Cheers

AEBS vs AExp

AEBS has 3 gigabit ethernet ports vs. none
AEBS supports USB hard drives vs. no support
AEBS has simultaneous dual band (2.4 and 5ghz)
AEBS should have better range

AExp has AirTunes

Thanks for the concise reply. I do need decent range, I have an iMac upstairs, which isn't far away, but I have thick walls, and reception up there is poor.

Thanks again,

MT
