Airport card not installed!? (its new though!)

okay, so i bought a used MID 2009 15"macbook pro.. when i turn it on it said no airport card installed, having went through this problem before i just ordered a new airport card and installed it myself (very easy process, so i know i did it correctly.) but even now when i turn on my macbook, it still tells me there is no airport card installed!!! its updated to the newest mavericks firmware. i tried making a new "wifi" in system preferences--> network. but it doesnt even give me the option in the drop down menu, it only says, "ethernet, firewire, bluetooth DUN. PPOE, VPN, and 6 to 4." i dont have apple care so i'm really looking for a self fix instead of dishing out 300 at the apple store. please people help me! thank you all in advanced.

Sounds like a Logic Board issue I'm afraid.

I had this same problem in November, unfortunately it was the logic board and cost me $220.

Return the Macbook to the guy that sold it to you. It is obviously defect and needs repairing.
