Recently my macbook (the original 1.8ghz core duo) wireless has started playing up. It will now only connect to my router if I am in the same room, previously it would connect all over the house and garden. My sisters identical macbook still gets full reception in all the places my macbook did before last week. Mine can usually see the network in the next room, but gives a timeout on connection and constantly asks for the router pword (even though it is an apporved network and the wpa is stored in keychain)

Also, the macbook has bene running a little hotter than usual, could it be that the airport card is over heating, or degrading somehow?

Anyone had similar problems that they have been able to fix, or any ideas as to what to check for? Before people attrribute it to a source of interference, I compared a kismac scan of between now and a few months ago , and all the local routers are still using the same channels as they were, and the snr on the link is the same. I haven't changed the router firmware either.

Thanks for any ideas.
