hi, im kind of new to mac, i have a ibook g4,
i bought a airport extreme card from ebay, and have been told to install it my self.

i watched videos , but when i lift my keyboard, instead of the silver panel and then a ditch (for lack of a better word) where the card was slotted in in the tutorials, i have a gap which has visible green circuit boards sort of looking things.

i'm really worried i need to make my laptop wireless, and i don't know why mine looks different and how to install the card.

Sounds like it's missing the RAM shield. You should still be able to install the AirPort card, though. Just look at the position in the diagram. The connector at the bottom of the little gap should still be present, and there should still be a loose antenna cable floating around there somewhere.

(I've deliberately linked the instructions for replacing memory since it shows what the computer looks like without the RAM shield.)
