I just inherited an iMac G5 (10.4.11) which I would like to add to my existing PC setup. I currently have a DSL modem (2Wire from Qwest, my local phone service) hardwired to my PC. I understand if I want to connect the iMac wirelessly I will need an Airport connect. But I'm confused about the types available. There is a basic Airport Card, an Airport Extreme Card, and an Airport base station. Which of these would best suit my needs. BTW, distance from the modem is not a factor. The modem is about four feet from the iMac.
Advice much appreciated.

First go to Apple System Profiler to see if you have an AirPort card installed.

If you don't you'll need the proper AirPort Extreme card.

Then you can get an AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, or Time Capsule.
