Hey guys,

I have several USB external hard drives connected to my Time Capsule. The disks are being shared over the network, but I'm mainly the only user to these drives. I used to have full Read/Write access to these drives. It acts just like an internal drive, where deleting files will go to the system Trash, for example.

But this problem came up on Sunday when I was deleting some pictures from my Aperture library, where the master files are saved in one of the AirPort connected hard drives. Aperture is giving me an error message telling me that it won't be able to move these master images to the trash since I don't access to the volume (I have a referenced library). But the drives are mounted on my iMac, and I can add/remove files right from Finder. But another strange thing happened is that when I delete files from the Finder, it won't move the deleted files to the Trash first. A pop up window will tell me that the files will be deleted immediately, and it cannot be undone. I didn't notice this behavior before.

I tried to change the Read/Write privilege by going to Get Info of these drives, but I cannot change the permissions setting. There's an unknown name with Read/Write access, and Everyone with No Access. I unplugged one of these hard drives, and connect directly to my Mac. I repaired disk from Disk Utility, and select Ignore Ownership from Get Info before I plug it back to the Time Capsule, but still no go. I spent an hour on the phone with AppleCare, but they couldn't come up with a solution either. I found another forum where people are having a similar issue.

Does anyone have any idea? I might try to copy all of the files to my local drive, format all of the external hard drives, and move it back tomorrow. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
