Airport connection issues after sleep with macbook pro

Hi,

I'm having some issues with my macbook pro (early 2010 and 10.6.4) connecting to airport after it's woken from sleep. One of two things happen, it either: can't connect to any network despite multiple showing as found and any attempt to connect requires a password which just times out, OR, Airport is completely off and won't turn on.

It isn't a router issue as my ibook and girlfriends laptop can still connect, So I'm at my wits end the only resolution is to restart the machine.

Has anyone had similar experiences? I've searched for an answer but I haven't found any similar stories.

It's really annoying, it's happened at least 20 times in 4 days.

Hi, I'm posting this as finally found the solution to this same issue and wanted to make it easier, and perhaps quicker for others. I followed these instructions from Apple and all seems to be working again!
