Airport Disappeared

Hey guys, my airport disappeared from my powermac G5. I lost wireless connection and it was still showing the icon in the task bar, but after re-booting it's as though it doesn't exist. Doesn't show up in system profiler etc.
Does that mean it's fried and I need to replace?
