Hoping someone might be able to help...
I have an 500gb external hard drive connected to the usb port of an Apple Extreme Basetation to act as storage for iTunes music etc.
Everything was fine until one day when the drive didn't mount after selecting it under my network drives. Thinking that it just needed a switch on and off, the problem wasn't fixed no matter which combination I switched them on in.
However my iTunes still plays the files as if it has been mounted. So it's 'mounted' as far as iTunes is concerned but not with the Finder. Unfortunately selecting a music file in the library and right clicking on it to 'show in Finder' doesn't trick the Finder into mounting the drive.
Any ideas?
