Hi there

I wonder if there is an easy way to test or repair the airport on my somewhat old 15inch MBP (1st gen of MBPs).

The problem I experience is that sometimes after some usage my airport stops connecting with the wifi network at home. When this happens 2 things then follow. Either airport can no longer see any network when there are about 10 in the area, or it can only see one or two, including my own one, but it says my network is locked and it wont accept the correct password (which should be stored in the computer already).

Sometimes after a couple of restarts it will connect again, sometimes it will not. sometimes it will reconnect after a considerable amount of time waiting (eg an hour), then drop out again...

Meanwhile I do not experience any drop out from the PC I have, nor from my android phone. This makes me think the problem is in the computer, not the router.

I am currently connected via the ethernet cable, which works fine.

I'm not sure what to do so any help would be appreciated.

Are you running SL or Lion. There are many reports of wifi problems with Lion.
