Airport "empty pie slice"

hello, hope this is i the right forum
my problem is that sometimes my airport will turn off after working for some time, and i get the "empty pie slice" next to my battery level. though clicking on it gives me the option to turn airport on, it refuses to do so. if i leave my computer on and dont use it, airport is fine, but if it is unplugged it is likely to turn off at some point. maybe there is a connection.
i already tried searching and didn't get much help.
any help would be appreciated.

thanks for pointing that out. once i installed it, i didn't have the problem again. since then i upgraded (no format) to SL, and its reasonable to believe tat the fix is built in, i don't foresee the problem in the future
