Hi. I have a PC (Vista OS) and Linksys wireless network at home and wanted to use my airport express to stream music and share printer. If I were to do this I would have to get the airport express to join my existing network as a wireless client.

I have these questions / problems:
1) I plug in the airport express to the wall (without connecting to internet) - shouldn't I be able to set the security for the airport wireless network even though I'm not connected to the internet? Normally with other wireless routers you can just plug it in to the wall and set security for that router without having internet connection... but with airport express I click on "Manually Configure" and it takes ages trying to access my device and at the end it just gives me an error "There was an error while trying to access your device. blah blah. Error code : -4"

2) Can airport express join an existing wireless network even if the network is not from Airport Base Station (i.e. linksys wireless network). When I was able to get my computer to see the airport express with the previous unit I had (I have a replacement unit now due to my first one failing on me) I was unable to get airport express to join my linksys wireless network as a wireless client. It seemed like it was joining only to give me an error after rebooting itself at the end of the configuration..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! I've been researching all over the net and I can't seem to find my answer...
