Airport Express Card...Base Station??

Hi, I've recently bought a macbook pro and I would love to play music/audio through my speakers wirelessly...
My speakers are compatible and I have an airport express card fitted.
Do I need a base station? or can I set this up without one?

You'll need an Airport Express base station to hook the speakers to use the AirTunes feature as it's known as. I am not aware of another piece of hardware that would allow the same features.
