Just wondering what kind of digital out it is on the Airport Express.

I want to get the bits of a connection kit I need as £30 for Apples one is a bit steep.

So what size/type the digital out is would really help me out.

I assumed the analog is a headphone out?

Thanks

The connection used is a 'mini' toslink or 3.5mm toslink connection, you need a 3.5mm to Toslink cable such as this: http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/1609

you can usually pick cheaper ones up in places like Argos, Comet or Dixons etc.. but a branded one like Profigold, QED, Chord etc will set you back anywhere between £30 and £300!

The connector is a dual purpose connector, it will accept the optical connection (as stated above) or a standard 3.5mm Stereo analog output (same as those used on headphones). To connect to your stereo you would need a 3.5mm Jack to x2 Phono connector such as this: http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/705

As the signal is only stereo, analog connections are preffered, depending on your hifi system.
