Two days ago I finally decided to purchase an Airport Express with 802.11n Wi-Fi in order to stream my iTunes library from my laptop to my nearby Hi-Fi. In preparation for this, I also purchased a Belkin Wireless N router and connected it to my desktop computer seamlessly. The router uses WPA encryption and is currently broadcasting 802.11b/g/n so that I can connect other devices such as my Xbox 360.

My laptop is currently running Windows Vista and has an integrated 802.11a/b/g wireless card, which is currently on and connecting to my network with 802.11g. I also have a wireless n adapter connected to this laptop, connecting to my network with 802.11n (yes, I have two network connections on the laptop) Both connections are working perfectly.

After I setup my network, I decided to connect Airport express to my laptop. After installing the utility and plugging my Hi-Fi into the Airport, I plugged it into a power socket right below my laptop (literally like a couple feet away) After a while the utility found the device and I set it up to join my network. Everything worked smoothly and I could use AirTunes without any problems whatsoever.

The trouble started the next day when I powered on my laptop: I ran iTunes, and it said that it could not connect to my Airport. I check the Airport utility, and my unit cannot be found after several rescans. So, I decided to reset by holding down that button on the unit for 10 seconds until it started blinking (thus restoring it to factory settings). I set up my network again, and AirTunes worked perfectly, just as it did the first time.

However, I received the same problem after a couple hours on iTunes - all of a sudden, it could no longer communicate with Airport. This time, I simply unplugged the unit and waited a minute, reconnected it and everything worked once again.

My question is: has anybody had this problem before, and if they have, what did you do to fix it? I love the concept of Airtunes, but hate the hassles it brings along with it. Thanks everybody =]
