Airport express flashes amber but connects to iPad but not pc

I have just started a 2 week vacation. Airport express is connect in hotel room to an Ethernet cable. It is flashing amber but my iPad can connect ok but my Dell laptop can't see the wireless network or the airport express base station in the ae utility program?

I connect the Dell to the airport express via the Ethernet and forced a reset to factory settings but still flashes amber?

Any ideas?

You forced factory reset, did you go ahead and configure it after that? I am just wondering because usually flashing amber (but still somewhat working) might mean it hasn't been setup yet.

Thanks for quick reply.
My problem is that to set it up again I need my laptop to be able to connect to it wirelessly as the Ethernet is going into the express? If I connect the express to the laptop with the Ethernet then I don't have an Internet connection.
Wife is also nagging me to stop mucking around...........
