Wanting to use airport express as my wifi whilst travelling & staying in hotels that only have broadband access. How do i go about setting this up? is it done when you get there or do you do it from home from your main apple mac computer? I do not take a laptop with me. Please keep explanations basic as i'm not an IT type of person!

You will need to set up the AE before leaving home, using the Airport Utility software that comes with the router.
I used this thread from the Apple forums (found via Google: "Airport Express hotel", BTW, it's the first hit) to configure mine for a trip last month. It worked perfectly, and allowed us to run four devices with only one wifi charge to the room.
