Airport Express, LAN slower than Internet

Hello,
I have a airport express wifi and when I transfer some files between my two macbook pros (both unibody), the transfer is slower than when I download something from the internet.

I'm using AFP to transfer the file. With a 1GB iso I have around 2.5 MB/s in my local network, when I download from the internet I have 7.5 MB/s.

Why is my local network so slow ?
