Hi all,

Is there any significant difference in airport express models? I can't see any physical difference in them, but if I get a used on on eBay, is there a chance that it wont support something that a newer one will?

----------

Let me ask this too:

Let's say I want to use the airport express as part of a "whole house audio" to send audio to speakers (via an amp) mounted in the ceiling of my patio. Can I plug the airport extreme, via ethernet, directly to my switch and still use it an an airplay device? Ie, so anybody outside, as long as I have wifi signal, can see the airport express and play music through it?

(Airport Extreme) -> Cisco Switch -> Airport Express
(arrows = ethernet cable)

:)
Damn it's so hard describing this stuff.

Yes. The original model doesn't support 802.11n.

You can usually pick up refurbished current model units from Apple for $70.

Also, yes. AirPlay works via wired and wireless networking.
