airport express + new mac refurb lappie..not working

hey folks,

so my bro-in-law finally bought a mac, but they can't get their internet to work with the airport express.

I don't have all the info and will be heading over there later, but i thought i would proactively post in hopes that maybe there is a key step missing.

They have the modem connected to the wall (not sure of the brand...bell model i believe), they have ethernet running from modem to airport express. They've run the setup and the express seems to be working. the mbp also seems to be picking up other wireless networks so no problem there.

i will check on their network set up and encryption password, but is there any other funky thing they/we need to look for?

I just got back in town so I don't much beyond that..sorry.

Reset the airport express with factory settings.
