Airport Express not found

I'm trying to set up a wireless network with an Airport Express, I plugged it in like it says to, soon after it starts to flash the amber light. The setup guide tells me to diagnose it via Airport Utility, but the Express doesn't show up there.

Can someone help me?

do you have a hardwire ethernet connection to the express, sometimes it helps to do so untill you are up and running.

I talked to Apple support and they helped me.

All I had to do is do a hard reset, but it probably doesn't help that my university doesn't allow personal wireless networks...oh well
