Older G5, with built in Airport, sees Airport Express to drive printer but iTunes doesn't see remote speakers wired to same AE.
Was having occasional drop outs, replaced AE with new; seemed to be OK;
then speakers stopped showing up in iTunes
(speakers work when cable plugged into iPhone)
AE and G5 about 6' apart, in the same room.

How is the express connected to the main network?
*both G5 and express connected to same wireless network?
*Express wired, and creating wireless network that G5 is connected to?

I've got an express that connects to my wireless, i've discovered that rebooting the main wireless base station can fix problems of being able to connect to the express. (I've got a linksys running dd-wrt)

Also, not sure if this has changed, but in older versions of iTunes, it seemed to only look for speakers when it started, so you might try re-starting iTunes.

Thanks for the suggestions.
AE not on network, only used to drive speakers and printer. After a few days of being off, I booted up today and everything seems to be working. I did not change any settings. Must be the built-in airport is getting flakey.
