Airport Express - Odd use?

Hi,

This may sound like a strange question, but here goes...

I want to share my music wirelessly, and AE fits the bill. However, the location of the AE will be right next to my TC or Extreme base station.

Therefore, I'm wondering if I could purchase one of the old AEs (b/g), and link it up with ethernet, but still use its music sharing capabilities?

Seems like a waste to have it sitting next to my router over n wireless. Would rather have an n express somewhere else to extend the signal...

Either way you'll need to have the AE near to your hi-fi.
