So, long story short....I'm out of town and my wife's laptop is having problems connecting to our cable modem due to some dumb WinVista issue. So, since I have the airport extreme with me I had my wife go get an airport express.

She connects the cable modem to the APexpress and then plugs it in. The big problem we are having is that when she runs the airport setup utility she is unable to configure the APexpress. The APexpress is flashing amber. Can any one think of anything. It shows up in the airport utility but she can't seem to configure it.

Thanks

My friend is having the same problem. Brand new Airport Express Wireless N; plugged in; ethernet plugged in; flashing amber; airport utility on Windows installed; not detecting Airport network.

Any ideas? My MacBook Pro detected mine straight-away...

Same here

I am having the same problem with my Vista os. All of my software is up to date, but it wont connect. Sometimes, if i leave my Airport Express plugged in for about an hour or so it randomly connects to my network and shows up in the AP Utility. But when i try to set it up and it needs to restart, it gives me an error message saying that it was unable to find my device after restarting OR gives me error 6753 saying that i need to make sure my network connection is valid because my device cant connect to it (even though my connection is perfectly fine). PLEASE HELP!

Cannot detect Airport Express

exact same problem here...just got a new Airport Express. Connected to ethernet modem, it does not show up in the Airport utility...any ideas?
