Airport Express setup question

My current network setup is as follows:

DSL modem connected to a wireless router. This wireless router broadcasts “Network 1.”

The wireless router connects via Ethernet to a Time Capsule. The Time Capsule broadcasts “Network 2.”

I am planning to add an Airport Express used exclusively for streaming AirPlay audio. I was going to connect the Airport Express to Network 1 in Client Mode.

Question: if my iPhone is connected to the wireless Network 2, which is the Time Capsule, will it still be able to stream to the Airport Express since the Time Capsule is connected by Ethernet to the router? Or does the iPhone need to connect to the same wireless network as the Airport Express?

As long as it is all the same subnet it should work fine.

If the Time Capsule is in Bridge Mode and the AirPort Express is in "Join" mode then it should work. However, I fail to understand why you don't make the Time Capsule the router and the Express join it!
