Airport Express - Should I wait?

Looking at buying an Airport Express to pipe music into another room via airtunes, but seem to be having trouble finding them. Went to two retailers in the CBD, (JB-Hi Fi, Dick Smith in Melbourne) and they were sold out.

Is there a chance that new hardware will be released soon?

Seems like the AE has been on a yearly upgrade cycle every June w/ newer chipsets. It's a bit early, but perhaps that's what is going on if they are OOS.

Might be, but it depends how quickly agreed standards turn into shipping product. Best guess seems to be June-ish for the Broadcom 802.11ac chips currently being manufactured. Cannot see any reason for Apple's refreshing its wireless range of products before then.
