Hello,

I have an older AirPort Express whose firmware is 6.0. I am trying to use it to extend the range of the wireless network provided by our Time Capsule. The Time Capsule is on v7.4.2.

Every time I try to read the configuration of the AirPort Extreme I get this error message from AirPort Utility:
Make sure your Apple wireless device is plugged in and in range of your computer or connected via Ethernet and try again. (-6753)

Fact is, I have tried it with the AirPort Extreme right next to and with it connected via an Ethernet cable.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can work with the Airport Extreme so that I can get the firmware updated or is it just too many versions back?

Thanks,

Karl
