Airport Express with Printer/Scanner and Netgear Router

Ok, so I bought an Express, hoping to put my printer in another room and print, and wanted to extend my wifi coverage.

I have a Printer/Scanner/Copier. Seems that I can only print via Express.
When I try to scan it says something about USB not connected. So no Scans.
It there a work around?

2nd, before I return it....
Can I keep the express and use my Netgear N router to have full coverage at my house? I tried the auto setups to no avail.

I am router/IP/whatever challenged, so go easy on me.

from everything i have researched you can only print... guess it depends how much you actually scan......

i know it can be done...i personally dont have one.. i believe its done through the airport utility.. search around here... or check out.. http://www.apple.com/support/airport/
