i bought this hardware to share my printer...is there any other reason to use it?...i mean i have the wireless router already...plugging the router to the airport is redundant?....and maybe slows the internet connection down?

and seems like the range is less than the router connecting directly...can i connect straight thru the router and use the airport only for sharing printer?

help

thanks

streaming music (air-tunes) was the reason I got mine.

Have an extreme base station, and 4 Airport express's all wired to amp/speaker setups in the house.

In terms of wireless, the single extreme covers the house sufficiently, but the ability to stream tunes to any or all the speakers in the house is superb.

airport express + airport base station/time capsule - in the wireless setup there is an option to extend this wireless network - making 2 or more access points into one given you a wider coverage area

for me i live in a 2 storey house and my TC is on ground plugged into my internet connection - APE is on top deck serving music and also a G5 PowerMac

works very well as i can now use my PS3/Wii wireless at the top deck ;)

i only have the airport express plus a router that came with my at&t service...can i still extend?
