i'm thinking about this for quite a while:

normaly my sisters centrino laptop (SL connects via a crossover cable to our family pc (FP) at home or through a network bridge to my pc (MP) which i take home occasionally

at home we have a ISDN connection so a broadband router is not an option
setup

here the current setups including wire lengths

internet --->FP --5m-- MP --10m-- SL
internet --->FP --10m-- SL

my problem is now : my ordered mac mini has 1 ethernet port and a airport extreme ...so the big question is now if routing my sisters laptop through my PC works over the distance of ~5-7 meters including a rather thin wall (_not_ massive) would work fine

it would only work using the wireless B standard (my sisters laptop being the brake here ;)) but i've no experience with the range pc-pc connections

my alternatives would be shelling out money for an ethernet switch + 2 cables (we are using crossover-cables at the moment) or get a wireless router with including switch (which can be used for normal wired as well)
