Airport Extreme 2012 Drops Wireless Connection when using external drive

Since yesterday, when I connect my external drive to my Extreme, it will drop the wireless connection(ethernet still works) on all devices. For example, if the drive is idle, the connection works great. However, when I went to install Office 2007(saved on drive) on a ethernet and wireless computer the wireless dropped out and it did it again today. I tried changing the channels...any other things I should try?
