airport extreme and 3TB storage device

I just bought an ASUS rt-56u router and it wont accept my 3tb drive ... not sure why, but it wont share it.

I was wondering if the AE would work with my 3TB drive correctly?

I am plugging it in through the USB connection on the router

How is the drive formatted? Asus supports NTFS, Apple supports HFS.

I have a 3TB external USB drive that has tested fine with the previous generation square,squat AE, and the newest Time Capsule Tower.

Both were formatted as Mac OS Extended (aka HFS+).

Be sure to partition as GPT/GUID. You can do this with Apple Disk Utility.
