Hi,

I have recently bought 1TB WD My Book external hard drive. I have formatted it for HFS+ and configured it as raid 1 (2 drive mirror). I have connected the drive to AEBS via usb 2.0 and mounted the drive on my mac book pro and also on my old windows XP desktop.

Then I started to backup files from my windows xp machine and it turns out I cannot copy files larger than 2GB to the network drive. I can copy files larger than 2 GB from my mac but not from my windows XP machine. When I look at the network drive in windows it says fat32 (limit is 4 GB). I did not find anything about the limit in apple documentation. Anyone here has a workaround?

thanks rif

2GB file limit for shared HD on airport extreme?

interesting, when I map HD from my mac book pro to the windows XP box it appears as NTFS network drive and files > 2GB are fine. Why HD connected to the AEBS appears as FAT32 (both are formatted as HFS+)? In any case FAT32 has 4GB size limit. The difference is the file sharing service (samba?) I guess. Any ideas?

thanks rif
