Airport extreme and Linksys wap 11

I just got an airport extreme card. When I try to connect to my roomates wireless network it first asks for a password, which he doesn't have/use. So we tried the encryption key and that failed. How do I hook up to a Linksys wap 11? I know that my PB will connect to other a linksys network. I am on one right now at work.

Help.

I figured it out...

all we had to do was put a $ sign in front of the encryption key.
