Airport Extreme as Ethernet NAS?

Can I pop a 4TB disk into an aiport extreme and use it as an NAS connecting it over ethernet to my router?
 
You can but there's no place to connect it to. SATA parts are missing on MoBo (check iFixit!). But you can connext a drive to USB port to the same effect.
