Hi,

I have an iMac that i want to connect to the internet using an AirPort Extreme Base Station. The only problem is that i want to hard wire into it to my imac and have the wifi to use my iphone and anything else i want (laptop). I want to get this as i will be adding other things to it in the future (apple tv, macbook etc etc) I'm on ADSL and i beleive the AirPort Extreme Base Station doesnt have a built in modem. How could i do this?

I have a bt router(not wifi) that has a built in modem that i could use but would i still have the draft n? and would be a case of connecting my bt router to my imac and then connecting the AirPort Extreme Base Station to the bt router?

Matt

adsl

dude, you'll have to run an ethernet cable from your BT adsl router to your Airport Extreme then you'll have two options

1. run a cable from your bt router to your imac

2. (which is what i'd do) run a cable from your airport extreme base station
that way, it'd be easier for you to use content for apple tv etc. a lot easier
