AirPort Extreme Base Station - AirTunes?

I just purchased the AirPort Extreme Base Station from the online store and it hasn't arrived yet. I did a little bit of research to confirm that it has the ability to stream iTunes to my stereo via AirTunes. However, it looks like AirPort Express has AirTunes, and the Extreme does not. What's up with that?

Can somebody shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

What you have said is true.

The Extreme replaces the old extreme which looks like a UFO and that didn't have airtunes.

I don't know why it doesnt have airtunes in the new model. Maybe a update is due for the express ? or they want you to buy an apple tv

My friend already had an Express when he bought is Extreme. He put them on the same network and was able to use the AirTunes feature. You could probably pick up a used Express for $50 to $60.

ya i dont understand why they didnt do that, but they offer different things, like the extreme can have external hard drives connected to it and express cannot, so it would be nice to have both, but i only have the express
