I need to squeeze a bit more performance out of my 3 Airport Extreme config, so I'd like to ensure that the 2 remote-located Extremes aren't providing any wireless services. I simply need them in wireless bridge mode to provide networking to wired devices.

Currently they have been set to "extend" the wireless network. I hopped into the utility to select "join" instead, however that option does not appear. I can create, extend, or off. That's it, even if I press the option key.

Where has this selection gone?

Thanks

Edit: Ironically, my old generation N Express has the "join" option present.

The older generation N Express is "joined" to the 802.11n network just fine though.
