Hi everyone. I took the plunge in becoming a Mac user recently and I've decided that I want to update some of the infrastructure of my home network. Currently I have a "g" router through which I share a couple of Windows PCs as well as my MBP, iPad and iPhone. I want to take this opportunity to also add some backup/NAS capabilities to my network as well. After reading the horror stories of the 2009 Time Capsules, and their general limitations as NASs, I think I want to go with an ethernet-capable external harddrive attached to an Airport Extreme. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Whats a good harddrive? I say ethernet because I want maximum thoroughput (though I don't really need it for heavy-duty streaming; I'm just impatient.)

Thanks!

I use the current airport extreme with a lacie drive attached. I use it for media streaming etc and it works well. All running off the wifi not gb ethernet.
