I have a friend who lives in the boonies and still only has dial-up (gasp!). She has a pre-Intel chip G5 Pro Desktop without an Airport Card. All she wants to do is stream music from iTunes to her audio system in a different room. Normally, if she wasn't on dial-up, and if she actually had an Airport Card, I know that this can be done easily. My question: can she install an Airport Card, buy an Airport Extreme base station to stream audio to her system without using an internet connection? Since she's on dial-up she's only connected when she needs to be, which is to check her email, so an always on dial-up wireless network seems...well, ridiculous.

She needs an Airport EXPRESS not extreme.
But yes, with an AExpress and an airport card she can stream music. It has nothing to do with internet for that function to work.
