I picked up the Extreme in November, hoping to improve our internet speeds. When I first set it up, my rMBP barely had internet throughput (¼–½ speed) when connected in clamshell mode, normal when the lid was up. After designating a 5Ghz channel the rMBP internet speeds are normal in clamshell mode. Also, our iPads, iPhones, and Apple TV get normal internet speeds when hooked up to the 5Ghz channel.

But, we can no longer make or receive calls on our MBPs or iPad. If I go back to the regular channel (which I assume is 2.4Ghz) continuity returns but the internet speeds drop unacceptably.

My devices are on beta software, both iOS and Yosemite, but my wife's devices are on latest public releases. She has the same problem with continuity not working on the 5Ghz channel, etc.

Any ideas?
