I recently moved into an apartment building that is covered by wi-fi. I'd like to set up my Airport Extreme Base Station so that it joins this existing network, then re-broadcasts a new network name to my MacBook Air. The existing wi-fi is great on the side of the room opposite my desk, but pretty weak where I need it. I use a USB hard drive connected to the AEBS for Time Machine.

I've done a bunch of searching, and can't figure out how to set it up so that my neighbors don't see my network, so that they don't try to connect to a dead end. I'd also like to keep my Time Machine private as well.

Any advice?
